Wiring and Electrical Harnessing provided for Satellite Remote Sensing Technology
Our client, a leading research university, was developing a technology needed for two nano-satellites whose mission was to demonstrate precise autonomous formation flying. This technology will be required for next generation remote sensing missions. In order to build these remote sensing satellite platforms to test propulsion and guidance control in space, they required a company that could provide wiring and electrical harnessing expertise.
Amphenol CTI was contracted to provide engineering expertise and leadership for the electrical harnessing required for the subsystems that were to operate in the satellites. We provided schematics and drawings, component selection and final designs. Working with engineers from the university, we provided automated tooling and the production processes required to produce high quality components that would provide a highly reliable product for performance in space.
The entire project was developed, approved and delivered on time and below cost expectations originally established. The nano-satellites are planned to be launched into space in the near future.
